![]() ![]() ![]() Due to its age, it doesn't have a manufacturer's serial number. I almost didn't get it back across the border. Years ago, I once took this shotgun on a Canadian camping trip. Although it is a bolt action, in reality it is mostly a single shot, as working the bolt takes too much time for a quick second shot. I also shoot a little bit of informal trap and skeet with it - but no "doubles". It came with an adjustable choke device, so is pretty versatile. Over the years it has taken geese, ducks, doves, squirrels, rabbits, quail, and pheasant. The above photo shows two cock pheasants I shot with it last week on a frigid Illinois day. I make it a point to hunt with it at least once a year and think of Dad when I do so. Its in wonderful condition after all those 64 years, and has a real walnut stock. In 1953, my Dad bought me a new Mossberg 16 gauge bolt-action shotgun for my 13th birthday (and bar-mitzvah). ![]()
